[Libs-Or] classification of board books

hello, catalogers:

we would like to improve browsing access to our board book collection.
assuming that busy parents haven't time to use the opac, is there a tidy method to classify these items?
ideally, we would like a subject arrangement (animals, colors, shapes, etc.) with corresponding spine labels.

is there a board book-specific authority which provides these subjects?

or, does anyone have a successful methodology for classifying board books?
