[Libs-Or] NO Cost Online Open Course: Libraries Leading with TV Whitespace AND "Beyond the Walls" Awards Program

Greetings! The following came across my inbox and I thought it might of interest:

Funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Libraries Leading with TV Whitespace course provides a professional development opportunity for public librarians to learn about the applications of TV White Space (TVWS) technology. Find out how you can implement this emerging technology in your library and use it to expand wireless networks to advance access, inclusion, and crisis planning.

Please also check out our “Beyond The Walls” awards program which will provide five $15,000 grants to libraries for the most innovative proposals to use TV WhiteSpace (TVWS) technologies to enable new library hotspots in the service of their communities. The first round of applications will be considered on a rolling basis with March 6 as the first round cutoff. If your library meets the necessary criteria, we will work with you to put together a project plan. Winners will be announced at the end of April 2017.

The application will open February 6, 2017. You will be able to edit your answers at any time.
