Library 2.017: Adapt and Innovate webinar on Wednesday, February 22, from 8 - 9 a.m.

Erica Freudenberger, of Southern Adirondack Library System, will address the challenges of providing excellent library service despite having a small budget and/or staff. This webinar will focus on the best way to meet the core needs of a community in order to provide exceptional library services, regardless of size or budget. Participants will learn how to look outside the box of their library as a building with resources, in order to see how they can be meeting the greater needs of their communities, while showcasing the library and staff's strengths.

Erica is a promiscuous collaborator who spends way too much time thinking about how libraries can empower the communities they serve. Currently the Outreach & Engagement Consultant at the Southern Adirondack Library System, she formerly led the Red Hook Public Library, which was a finalist for the Best Small Library Award given by Library Journal and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and garnered a five-star library rating from 2013-2016. In 2015, Red Hook Public Library was invited to take part in the pilot program, Re-envisioning Public Libraries with the Aspen Institute; and in 2014 was one of ten libraries nationwide chosen to be a part of the American Library Association's Libraries Transforming Communities initiative. Erica was named a Mover & Shaker by Library Journal in 2016.
