[Libs-Or] Deadline extended for PLD Board nominations!

Hello PLD members,

Serving on the PLD board is a great way to collaborate with very cool librarians around the state. Consider nominating yourself or someone else. Deadline extended through Sat., July 15.

The PLD Board is seeking nominations for secretary (two year term), chair-elect (three year term) and two board members (two year terms). If you are an enthusiastic, engaged and eager member of the Public Library Division, this opportunity is for you. We meet every two months, primarily in the valley, for 3-5 hours. Attending meetings virtually is also an option. Our projects for the upcoming year include:

  *   OLA conference (PLD dinner, preconference and any other conferences we may consider)
  *   Library Directors' meetings which include an educational component
  *   Oregon Public Library Standards review
  *   Supporting measurement tools such as the PLA's Project Outcome
  *   and more...

Desired skills for PLD projects:

  *   Event planning (OLA conference, directors' meetings, trainings)
  *   Grant writing
  *   Communication planning
  *   Project management
  *   Analysis
  *   Familiarity with web editing (Secretary)

If this sounds like an exciting opportunity for you, and you have the time to give (average estimate is 10 hours/month), we look forward to your nomination. Nominations should include a brief bio and how you can contribute to the PLD Board. Please reply to this email by July 15. Ballots will go out in mid-July. Terms are two years long and will begin in September 2017.
