LYRASIS Second Fridays - Creating an Open Textbook Publishing Program: Inside PDXOpen (Live Online)

In this session, Karen Bjork from PSU will talk to us about how they created PDXOpen. PDXOpen is an open access textbook publishing initiative to support Portland State faculty developing open access textbooks and instill the importance of open access and education.

Karen Bjork is the Head of Digital Initiatives at Portland State University (PSU) Library. She manages the institutional repository, PDXScholar, and leads efforts to support the adoption, adaption, and creation of open educational resources.

Prior to joining Portland State, she was the Digital Initiatives Librarian at North Dakota State University. In this position she led the initiative in developing, implementing and promoting NDSU's institutional repository and digital collections.

She is a bike commuter and in her free time you'll find her hiking the trails of the Pacific Northwest with her husband and their corgi, Luna.
