Pete recently came to McMinnville to help us with some of our space planning needs. It was an absolute joy to meet him and get his wonderful ideas and insights.

Congratulations Pete! And congratulations to Carlos as well! I don’t know him but every LJ mover and shaker I’ve met truly is a Rock Star.

I am so thankful for the many wonderful people we have around here and for how people like Pete give of their time and energy to help other libraries succeed. It truly is a collaborative environment we have.

Good morning all,

Library Journal has announced the 2017 Movers and Shakers (although they are doing the “reveal” over several days so keep checking in at: http://lj.libraryjournal.com/movers/ ) However, I just happen to know that we have at least two Movers and Shakers here in Oregon.

Pete Barrell, director of the Cottage Grove Library,  and

Carlos Galeana, regional technology coordinator for East County out of the Gresham Library from Multnomah County Library.

I have attached a press release about Pete and will send more information on Carlos when it becomes available.
