[Libs-Or] Student Transitions Preconference at ALA Annual in Chicago

Please consider joining the LIRT Transitions to College Committee for a preconference at ALA Annual on Friday, June 23 from noon to 4pm in McCormick Place, W175b.

Examining and Supporting Student Transitions Across the Library Spectrum<https://www.eventscribe.com/2017/ALA-Annual/fsPopup.asp?Mode=presInfo&PresentationID=257861> will educate participants regarding libraries in supporting students' educational transitions from high school to college, primary to secondary school, undergraduate to graduate school, and formal schooling into adult life. Sessions include: successful case studies of library programs meant to ease students' transitions; a conversation about school, public and academic library learning standards; a panel of researchers specializing in students' transition behavior and how libraries support transitions; and opportunities for group discussion and brainstorming.

This is a ticketed preconference, but we’ve endeavored to keep it relatively inexpensive at $30.  Refreshments will be provided, including coffee, sodas, light snacks and desserts.
