Measure- 4-189 - City of Warrenton
QUESTION: Shall Warrenton levy $0.330 per $1,000 assessed value for library operations for five years beginning in July 1, 2018-2019? This measure may cause property taxes to increase more than 3%.

SUMMARY

The purpose of this local option tax is to continue City of Warrenton library operations for a period of five years. The proposed tax is $0.330 per $1,000 of assessed property value, or $33.00 per year on a $100,000 house. The levy would begin in the tax year starting July 1, 2018, and will end in the tax year ending June 30, 2023. The City will use the money to fund a part-time library site manager and assistant, increase hours of operation, pay for automation and E-books, purchase books, magazines, reference materials, and pay for rent, utilities, maintenance and telephone. The money raised can only be used for library operations.

Measure- 31-95 -Five-year local option levy for Union's Public Library - City of Union
QUESTION:  Shall the City of Union increase property taxes $1.21 per $1,000 of assessed valuation each year for five years, beginning fiscal year 2018-2019 for continued library operations?

SUMMARY

If approved, the option levy of $1.21 for each $1,000 of assessed property value. The local option levy would replace the current five-year levy that expired June 30, 2017.

Measure- 24-423 -Library Improvements General Obligation Bond Authorization - City of Salem
QUESTION:  Shall City issue up to $18,600,000 in general bonds for earthquake safety and building systems improvements to the Library? If the bonds are approved, they will be payable from taxes on property or property ownership that are not subject to the limits of sections 11 and 11b, Article XI of the Oregon Constitution.

SUMMARY

If approved, this measure would finance improvements to the Salem Public Library and other capital costs that would strengthen the Library building and adjacent surface parking lot and garage to increase protection for the public and building in the event of a major earthquake; repair or replace Library building systems including the roof, windows, plumbing, electrical, entryways, shelving, space remodeling, and air conditioning systems; extend the life of the Library for an additional 30 years and any funds remaining would be used to fund other capital costs for the Salem Public Library or the Salem Civic Center campus.
