An Infopeople 4-week online course, October 10, 2017 - November 6, 2017
Do you need to create professional-looking posters, flyers, signs, bulletin boards, displays or brochures for your library? Would you like to gain practical skills and a deeper understanding of fundamental design principles? Are you ready to ignite your creative spark while learning the basic techniques needed to produce library-related graphic design projects?
 During the course, you will explore:
*         Fundamental design principles
*         The importance of white or negative space
*         Desirable (and undesirable) fonts
*         Design software
*         How to find images
*         Resources for idea sharing and networking related to design
The course instructor, Valerie Colston, is an exhibiting artist who also teaches art and humanities courses at the university level. She has been delivering art and design workshops for library staff for years and is currently writing a graphic design book designed specifically to meet the needs of people working in libraries.
