Many people have asked me in recent days about the status of the Wallowa Co effort to create a library district.  Some of you have asked how you can help.  I send this in the spirit of those inquiries.

The district initiative leaders believe that it will be a close call. This morning I learned from them that an anti-tax group has become very active against the measure.  The initiative proponents are therefore upping their activities beyond what they had planned leading up to the vote on May 15.  They are trying to raise an additional $500-$1000 as quickly as possible.
