Put professional development at the top of your list for 2019! The Open
Classes online program at the San Jose State University School of
Information is open for enrollment. Spring session begins January 24, 2019.
Courses
The same courses offered in the iSchool's Master of Library and Information
Science and Master of Archives and Records Administration degree programs
are available for college credit through Open Classes. Spring 2019 course
topics include: Web Design and Programming, Python, Data Networking, Health
Informatics, Grant Writing, Open Access, Leadership, Electronic Records,
Archives and Manuscripts, Digital Curation, Collection Management,
Instructional Design K-12, Youth Services, and many more exciting topics!

Enrollment
The program is aimed at information professionals as a continuing education
opportunity for exploring new topics, expanding skills, and building
knowledge in the information field.

Enrollment is open to everyone who holds a bachelor's degree from any
regionally accredited institution in any discipline with a GPA of at least
3.0 at the bachelor's degree institution. To enroll, please submit the
course request form

and a staff member will contact you to confirm your spot. The form is
currently open and will close on January 4 at 5 p.m. Pacific Time. Courses
are offered on a space available basis and fill up quickly. Early enrollment
is encouraged for best course selection.
Fees
Course fees are $474 (USD) per unit, and courses range from one to three
units. Fees are subject to change. Please note fees are due within 21 days
of registration for spring semester. Students who pay income tax in the
United States may be able to take advantage of the IRS Lifelong Learning Tax
Credit, which can help reduce the amount of income taxes owed by receiving a
credit for educational expenses.
