Hello lovely colleagues,
I have the privilege of guest-editing the fall issue 2018 of the *Oregon
Library Association Quarterly (OLAQ)*. This issue’s theme will be: “Open
Educational Resources: Opportunities, Challenges, Impact.” If this is a
topic catches your eye and you are willing to share your work in this area,
please consider submitting an article proposal to be included in *OLA
Quarterly.* OLAQ is an official publication of the Oregon Library
Association and provides an opportunity to highlight the ongoing efforts to
support and enhance our community through the vital services and resources
offered via Oregon Libraries.
Advancing OER requires the unique skills possessed by librarians and
library staff—incredible research skills, tech savvy, strong connectivity
and identification with the needs of our patrons, and a flair for advocacy.
Contributing to OLAQ helps further this work and is also an opportunity to
have your writing published in a professional journal which is indexed in
many library science databases and have your ideas broadcast around the
world. If you are interested in writing for this issue, please email me a
brief, 150-word proposal at jray at bluecc.edu. The submission and publication
schedule for this issue is:
· Article proposal deadline: September 24th
· First draft deadline: October 25th
· Publishing goal: November 30th
Articles average 1500 to 2500 words and use APA citation style. If you need
a bit of help getting your article ready to publish, *OLAQ* has an
incredible editorial support team: Charles Wood, Jenn Weston, Jane
Scheppke, Lynne Stahl, and Rachel Kenny all of whom are happy to help. The *OLA
Quarterly* is indexed by Library Literature & Information Science and
Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts. Full text of the *OLAQ*
is also available through HW Wilson's Library Literature and Information
Science Full Text and EBSCO Publishing's Library, Information Science and
Technology Abstracts (LISTA) with Full Text.

I’m looking forward to seeing all of the great ideas you have out there! If
you have any questions, please feel free to email me or call me at

All the best,
Jackie Ray
