Hi Kelly,
I'm not sure what information you collected already.
There's a body of research called "school library impact studies" that should prove helpful. You can Google that, but here are some starting points:
* Library Research Service: https://www.lrs.org/data-tools/school-libraries/impact-studies/
* School Libraries Work! (2016) by Scholastic (you have to enter an email address to download the PDF): http://www.scholastic.com/SLW2016/
* Executive summary of Dr. Lance's Oregon study from 2001: https://ola.memberclicks.net/assets/OASL/documents/oregonstudyexecutivesummary.pdf
* Good findings, like this: "Whatever the current level of development of a school’s library media (LM) program, these findings indicate that incremental improvements in its staffing, collections, and budget will yield incremental increases in reading scores."
* The full study can be borrowed from the State Library.
* AASL's journal, School Library Research: http://www.ala.org/aasl/pubs/slr
Thanks,
Jen

Hi Kelly - I encourage you to contact Tina Hovekamp (thovekamp at cocc.edu<mailto:thovekamp at cocc.edu>) and Tracy Scharn (scharnt at wou.edu<mailto:scharnt at wou.edu>) who have compiled some resources on this very topic.

Hello all,
I've been asked by my principal to share research on how librarians improve student achievement.
I've found a few great sources and links but am wondering if anyone here has any ideas or places to look?
I have until next Tuesday March 20 to put this together.
Any info you have will be greatly appreciated.
My job is part of Measure 98 (see attachment) and the administrators here need to report soon. They need this info for the justification for my job! Currently I am one of two high school librarians in a district with 10 elementary schools and 3 middle schools, all staffed with Library Media assistants.
Thank you for your anticipated help!
