POSITION: Resource Services & Collection Management Assistant

Position Summary
This position participates in aspects of Library collection management &
resource services units. Including: planning, oversight, and participation
in collection acquisitions, descriptions, & relocation projects; daily
operations (such as bindery operations; newspaper and journal processing);
labeling, barcoding, and security of library materials; ongoing collection
management (holdings and item record data entry and updating, inventory
control); and minor preservation decision-making. This a full-time,
benefits-eligible, SEIU-represented, classified position.

Minimum Qualifications of Classification

Bachelors degree plus two years of current (within 5 years) experience
in a Library; OR,
-
4 years of current library experience;

AND, advanced proficiency in multiple library specific computer
applications, e.g., integrated library systems, database applications,
institutional repository; content management systems.

Employee must have a valid Oregon or Washington Driver’s License

Compensation
The starting salary rate for this position will be $16.30 per hour,
dependent upon qualifications and experience. Portland State offers an
excellent benefits package including 95% premium paid healthcare; a
generous retirement and vacation package; and reduced tuition rates for
employee, spouse or dependent at any of the Oregon Public Universities.
