I'm passing along this information from my colleague at the Washington State about free in-person workshops (3 hours each) in the following locations that may be of interest:


*         Yakima Valley Libraries (Yakima, WA)

*         Fort Vancouver Regional Library (Vancouver, WA)

*         King County Library System (Issaquah, WA)

*         Colville Public Library (Colville, WA)

*         Kitsap Regional Library (Kingston, WA)

Workshop: Work Strong: Essential Conversations and Personal Power

Description: Conflict plays an enormous role in our work experience. Our fighting style and personality strengths impact our workplace culture.  This three hours, hand-on workshop will equip participants with a common language around conflict, and best practices for clear communication.  We will unpack beliefs about boundaries, discuss our understanding of rules and responsibilities, and practice challenging conversations in a non-threatening environment.  These workshops are presented by Karin Peabody from Dynamic Teaming.

PLEASE NOTE: An evaluation for this training session will be sent to each participant via email the day after the session attended.  Completing this evaluation is a requirement of attendance.  The feedback from these evaluations is a condition from IMLS who provides the funding to WSL. This funding allows us to offer these trainings to library staff for free.
