[Libs-Or] New State Librarian

Yah, so exciting! Forgive me to repeating below a part of what I just sent
out to OLA members, but I wanted everyone to know.

The path to find a new person to lead the State Library of Oregon has been
a long one. Throughout the search process, the Governor's Office involved
key stakeholders, including State Library staff, the State Library Board,
the Oregon Library Association, and others interested in the future of the
State Library. I think that our patience has paid off with an excellent
candidate.

Thank you to all of you for letting us know your thoughts through this long
time; your voices allowed OLA to clearly communicate, together with other
stakeholders, a vision for the State Library and who could lead it. I want
to extend particular thanks to the State Library staff, though. This time
of uncertainty was not easy on any of you, and you soldiered through it
with aplomb and made your dreams for the State Library clear. Special
thanks to Interim State Librarian Caren Agata. You stepped into a very
challenging role, and you and the rest of the staff made sure that the
State Library kept doing what you do best: giving great service to
print-disabled patrons, libraries, and state employees throughout Oregon.
