A recent post on the Oregon Historical Society’s blog Dear Oregon captures the indexers’ perspective on two epic oral histories recently digitized as part of the LSTA-funded project Digitizing the Oregon Story: Creating Access to Significant Legal and Political Oral Histories.
Read Sara Paulson and Cynthia Lopez’s post, Indexing the Oregon Story: Providing Access to Library “Gold”: ohs.org/blog/indexing-the-oregon-story.cfm<https://ohs.org/blog/indexing-the-oregon-story.cfm>, then visit OHS Digital Collections (digitalcollections.ohs.org/digitizing-the-oregon-story<https://digitalcollections.ohs.org/digitizing-the-oregon-story>) to check out the growing number of interviews available online, many of which will be accompanied by links to new or existing entries in The Oregon Encyclopedia (oregonencyclopedia.org/<https://oregonencyclopedia.org/>). The project is ongoing through June 2020; the result will be sustained online access to Oregon history gold.
This project is supported in whole or part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library Services and Technology Act, administered by the State Library of Oregon.
