[Libs-Or] Separation of Genre - paperback romance from paperback fiction

Hello,
Albany Public Library is looking at pulling the paperback romance from the paperback fiction and hardback fiction collection and creating a new location.  I am wondering if other libraries are doing this and what is entailed in the work flow. Did you change locations, call numbers, etc.?
I am especially interested in those who have made this change or one like it in their working experience.
