I want to thank everyone who replied to this email. I received several
leads that helped in the short term. I will say it is something that needs
new and concise information. I think there are so many variables to
consider. The limited information out there is pretty one size fits all.
The answer is going to vary by population served, revitalizing a downtown
core, well established neighboring businesses, suburban, rural, etc.
I was pointed to a study based on the Seattle library as well as several
studies done in the Midwest. Most of the information is 10-20 years old.
Most of them formulated their conclusions on a term called the library
"halo" effect which seemed a bit of wishful thinking to me. So if anyone
has unlimited time, a very large brain, and lots of money there is a
project waiting for you.
Thanks again, the leads you gave me were very useful for the task I had
been assigned by my city.
