     The City of Maupin is accepting applications for the position of
Library Director for Southern Wasco County Public Library located in
Maupin, OR.
    General Statement of Duties: The Librarian is responsible for planning,
organizing, directing, and coordinating all activities related to the
operation of the South Wasco County Public Library. This person serves as
principal liaison with the Wasco County Library Service District Board of
Directors. The Dalles-Wasco County Library Director, and Maupin City
Council and the community at large. Supervision is exercised over part-time
library staff and volunteers.
    Work hours are approximately 40 hours per week, and may require evening
and Saturday work. Will require some travel.
    This position will be involved in various activities associated with
the planned opening of a new South Wasco County Public Library.
    Education/ Experience/Knowledge: Post-secondary education desired and
five years of progressively responsible administrative experience in
library service that includes a background in library service management,
administration, operations and finance, or a satisfactory combination of
education and experience
  Compensation and Benefits: Pay Scale: $16.00 to $22.00 per hour. Starting
salary depending upon qualifications and experience. Benefits: PERS
Retirement and health benefits.
