Oregon Battle of the Books invites you to apply for book grants if your library supports OBOB through programming OR could use extra titles to support your local school's OBOB program. For each division set (elementary/middle/high school) you apply for you will need to resubmit the grant application on Survey Monkey. Set= 16 titles for elementary, 16 titles for middle school, 12 titles for high school. You can find the complete list of titles here: https://www.oregonbattleofthebooks.org/2019-2020-obob-book-titles/

We are grateful for LSTA funds, administered by the state library of Oregon, that allows OBOB to offer you these grants for free books. OBOB is using some of the grant funds to add additional copies of available elementary, middle school and high school eBooks and eAudiobooks on Overdrive. All titles are available on eBook, and all but 10 titles are available as an eAudiobook.

I will email all who apply in August to let you know if your public library will receive one or more book grants (but no more than one per division). Since the emails are sent in large batches it's helpful if you add obobfinancechair at gmail.com to your email contacts so my emails don't end up in your spam folder. If you apply and don't hear from me please feel free to email me on August 31st (but do me a favor please and don't ask before then).

Public libraries, many of you were so enthusiastic about the book grants last year and more than one person from your library may have applied. I love getting free books too so I understand your excitement, but before you push that button, please help me out and check in with your library colleagues.

This is a large grant, so I encourage you to apply. This grant is also offered to school libraries. We have pushed this information out through emails to schools/public libraries who participated in OBOB for 2018-2019, our OBOB Facebook page, our eNewsletter and our website. However, please feel free to pass this email on to other public libraries or schools hoping to participate in OBOB. If you would like to receive our eNewsletter please email oboboutreach at gmail.com.

Apply for the book grant here (5 minutes or less): https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LD9TLRN
