Hello Councilors,

During Forum 3, we briefly discussed LinkedIn’s acquisition of Lynda.com
and their expected upgrade that requires creating a LinkedIn account. For
more information about this, please read this OIF blogpost:
https://www.oif.ala.org/oif/?p=17968. Erin Berman, chair of the IFC Privacy
SubCommittee, is meeting with LinkedIn reps in San Francisco the first week
of July to see a live demo of their upgraded system, which they could not
show her during the ALA Conference.

I have attached a handout Erin forwarded to IFC members. Erin is currently
seeking to connect with libraries that have Lynda.com and hoping to make a
collective statement to LinkedIn about this decision.
