POSITION: Library Office Coordinator
LOCATION: Portland State University Library, Portland, OR

Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to act as an assistant to the Assistant
University Librarian for Administrative Services and Planning. Assumes
general responsibility for all library departments for processing
classified and unclassified payroll; initiates service and supply orders;
reconciles accounts; manages budget and assists with preparing budget
reports; coordinates professional travel; performs various administrative
and clerical tasks; and supervises 1-2 student employees. Performs duties
independently and makes independent decisions and judgments as warranted.

Required Qualifications

Two years of general clerical experience.

One year of which included typing, word processing, or other
experience generating documents; OR An Associate’s degree in Office
Occupations or Office Technology; OR Graduation from a private school of
business with a Certificate in Office Occupations or Office
Technology AND
-
One year of general clerical experience.
-
College courses in Office Occupations or Office Technology will
substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Professional and attentive customer service skills, by phone, email and
in person, including the ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.

Experience with MS Word.
-
Intermediate to advanced skill with MS Excel.
-
Excellent organizational skill and attention to detail.
-
Ability to work independently.
-
Effective communication skills.
-
Skill at multi-tasking.
-
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in Banner
Compensation
The starting wage for this position will be between $14.03/hr and
$15.68/hr. The starting salary may be negotiable above this range, however,
it will be dependent upon the knowledge, experience, skills, and abilities
of the chosen candidate, the budget of the hiring department, and approval
from HR. PSU’s excellent benefits package includes 95% premium paid
healthcare; a generous retirement and vacation package; and reduced tuition
rates for employee, spouse or dependent at any of the Oregon Public
Universities.
