[Libs-Or] curbside service?

Yes, quite a few libraries are.

Ours is called "Library Take-out." Patrons have to request materials by
Tuesday, either through the online catalog or by phone. We pull all the
materials (wearing gloves) and check them out to patrons and put them into
paper shopping bags. We have a card-weight slip in hot pink that we tape to
bag handles with their name and instructions. We arrange them
alphabetically on tables just inside the front doors. That's all done by
Wednesday.

On Thursday we call all the patrons to let them know they have a pickup
ready.

We distribute 4-6 on Friday. I set up a table in front of the library away
from the door and drop box. I set up cones at least six feet from it and my
path from the door. I sit in the door and people call out their names to me
as they arrive (or call if I'm inside). I bring their bag and place it on
the table. They wait until I've stepped away from the table to approach and
pick up their books.

People are so happy to have the service. This week I have bags ready for 63
patrons.

Good luck! Let me know if you want to see our printed materials.
