About the State Library of Oregon
The State Library of Oregon's (OSL)'s  mission is to provide leadership and resources to continue growing vibrant library services for Oregonians who are print-disabled, the Legislature and state government, and all Oregonians through local libraries. The agency consists of four divisions. Government Information and Library Services provides quality information services to assist state employees in the efficient performance of their jobs and in more effective decision-making for state government. Library Support and Development Services provides leadership, grants, and other assistance to improve local library service for all Oregonians. Operations provides the agency's administrative management functions such as board support, financial management, facilities management, volunteer management, information technology management, communications, and other administrative support services. The Oregon Talking Book and Braille Library is a free library for any Oregonian with a print disability, which includes visual, physical, and reading impairments.
Your Role
This position provides technical expertise, day-to-day administration and broad support for traditional and emerging library software solutions and standards. The Systems Librarian is primarily responsible for administering and configuring the library's integrated library system including users, profiles, policies, circulation and statistical data reporting. This position is the primary liaison to the integrated library system consortium and vendor and works closely with staff and vendors to monitor and troubleshoot performance issues with the library systems. The Systems Librarian serves as webmaster for the division and is primarily responsible for design, development and maintenance of integrated interfaces on the division website, including but not limited to, updating optimizing, composing, and creating content in electronic format using HTML, SharePoint, Springshare LibGuides, and other platforms.
The Systems Librarian will be a member of the reference services team and will share in the provision of reference services as an embedded librarian assigned to state agencies and provides instruction on State Library resources and services. Participation in a regular schedule of chat, phone and email reference is expected.
This position serves as the Library's representative on the state E-Governance board working with other agencies to ensure that state government information is readily accessible on the state website.

What We Are Looking For-Minimum Qualifications
The Oregon State Library is looking for an energetic self-starter with effective communication, interpersonal, organization, analytical, and problem solving skills, with an ability to work with a widely diverse group of people, as well as:
*         American Library Association (ALA) accredited Master of Library Science degree or equivalent
*         Two years' experience in web development and design
*         Professional knowledge of and technical experience with an ILS (integrated library system)
*         Experience in supporting library specific software, (i.e. Illiad, Springshare)
*         Enthusiasm, flexibility, and a high comfort level with innovation and change
*         Proficiency with one or more coding languages such as SQL, HTML/CSS or PHP
*         Demonstrated proficiency and capabilities with PCs and software, the Web and library-relevant information technology applications
*         Demonstrated knowledge of web development tools and the ability to write or modify scripts
*         Working Knowledge of standard office applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint or other productivity software
*         Demonstrated understanding of how to creatively apply current web technologies to provide a functional, dynamic library web presence
