Further updates on resources for wildfire victims from Legal Aid:


We now have a website with legal information and resources for people affected by the Oregon wildfires (and any subsequent disasters):

Please share this link far and wide.  This website includes all the informational flyers previously distributed and much more.  Importantly, there are now lawyers available to help people who want to appeal a denial of benefits from FEMA.  Individuals who are low-income and may be eligible for legal aid services should contact their local legal aid office<https://oregondisasterlegalservices.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/free-legal-aid-services-available.pdf> for help. In addition, the Oregon State Bar<https://www.osbar.org/public/index.html> has a legal hotline where volunteer lawyers may offer brief advice, referrals, and/or direct representation in a FEMA appeal.  1-800-452-7636.  Our disaster legal services website also includes links to support people handling their own FEMA appeals.  And, don't forget the pro bono assistance and materials from the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association<https://www.oregontriallawyers.org/?pg=2020FireRelief> to support people with insurance claims after the wildfires.
