Over the last two decades, a persistent digital divide challenged many job seekers from gaining skills and COVID-19 added fuel to the fire, with the biggest brunt of job loss affecting people with disabilities, people of color, women, younger workers, and those with less formal education.

Using labor market data and skills insight from dozens of countries, presenters of this webinar will identify ten jobs that are well positioned to continue to grow in the future. Attendees will hear about resources that can support skill development in these areas that are currently free or low cost and learn how to integrate them into the library's programming and communications.

  * Free learning paths and LinkedIn Learning classes
  *   GitHub Learning Lab tools
  *   Low-cost Microsoft Certifications

Participants will also learn how public libraries are using these and other resources to ramp up workforce development and skilling initiatives, including initiatives by our neighbors to the north in Washington state.

Greg Bianchi is senior project manager at Microsoft Philanthropies, where he manages nonprofit partner relationships and develops programs and resources for skilling and employability.
Elizabeth Iaukea is the Workforce Development Librarian at the Washington State Library.
Natalie Ruppert is the workforce development manager for the Kenton County Public Library in Erlanger, KY.
