The journalist Anne Helen Peterson has written a compelling essay in
response to Eric Klinenberg's recent suggestion in the New York Times that
libraries just might be able to save the 2020 election.

She writes: "Librarians have a front row seat to our failures as a
democracy. Maybe, instead of laying the task of solving that failure at
their feet, we should do something revelatory: listen to them."
