[Libs-Or] online equity and inclusion training

Hi Sami,

WCCLS’ Leadership Team recently went through Race Forward’s participatory Building Racial Equity training online, facilitated by Race Forward trainers on Zoom. Race Forward is the group that is home to GARE (Government Alliance on Race and Equity). I thought they did a good job of adapting what used to be an in-person training to the Zoom model instead. Let me know off-list if you’d like to hear more about our experience.

Training Components:

  *   Racial Justice Values & Vision
  *   Key Concepts: Different Dimensions of Racism / Structural Racism
  *   Implicit Bias and Systems Analysis
  *   Opportunities to Advance Racial Justice
Participants will:

  *   build a clear understanding of key concepts such as racial equity and structural racism
  *   learn to talk about race constructively within their organizations and with their constituents
  *   gain tools and practices for counteracting racial bias in their work and practices
  *   identify opportunities and next steps for applying concepts and strategies to advance racial equity
