[Libs-Or] Information about Advance Payments for Child Tax Credit

[cid:image002.png at 01D78882.AABF0390]The IRS need assistance from libraries on getting the word out about advance payments for the Child Tax Credit<https://www.irs.gov/credits-deductions/advance-child-tax-credit-payments-in-2021>.

The American Rescue Plan Act expands the child tax credit for tax year 2021. The maximum credit amount has increased to $3,000 per qualifying child between ages 6 and 17 and $3,600 per qualifying child under age 6. Families that don't typically file tax returns can receive advanced payments of the credit. Eligibility can be determined by using the eligibility assistant<https://apps.irs.gov/app/ctceligible/> on the IRS web site.

This site also has posters and flyers in multiple languages available in PDF format for printing.

You can help get the word out by putting up posters and handing out flyers at summer reading at your library or student orientation events on your campus.
