Introduction to Scholarly Metrics

This course will provide an introductory overview of tried-and-true bibliometric indicators, including citation-based metrics such as Journal Impact Factor and h-Index. We will also cover the web-based metrics known as alternative or altmetrics. Scholarly metrics is a rapidly evolving field, so we will also identify some newer bibliometrics and altmetrics tools.

To continue their learning, students will be asked to complete a “treasure hunt” worksheet after attending the webinar presentation.

This course consists of one two-hour session:
