[Libs-Or] LoT question

Hi there,

I work for one of the libraries in Washington County Cooperative Library Services. Several libraries in our county have LoT collections.

We have them in our ILS and patrons can place holds. We limit the holds to pickup at the owning branch because many items are too bulky or breakable to go through our courier.

Having items in the ILS means some adventures in cataloging, but it is doable. Happy to share our county cataloging procedures if that would be helpful.

We started one a little less than two years ago in Jackson County and have always used a separate software tool for cataloging those items, reservations, check outs, etc. We are wanting to gather information as to what other libraries are doing, whether something similar, or using your ILS, or another method. If you are using your ILS, are you simply allowing patrons to put items on hold as versus a reservation? Curious to find out how the method you use works for you.
