The goal of this network is to provide resources, training and ongoing support to libraries that are interested in becoming community hubs for citizen science. This can be as simple as having books displayed about citizen science, to more in depth engagement like hosting citizen science events and creating citizen science kits for library users and community groups to check out.

Currently, they have around 400 libraries that have signed up to join the National Citizen and Community Science Library Network and have seen really good turnout on the national webinars that they've hosted over the past year.

Science literacy for all ages is one of the participation outcomes in real scientific research through projects found on the SciStarter platform. Their team has put together kits with directions to provide the tools that support specific projects.
