Foundations of Intellectual Freedom
January 3-5, 2023, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm CST

Libraries often must justify collection decisions and find creative ways to remove barriers to access. Attaining a broad understanding of intellectual freedom as a professional value will strengthen a librarian's ability to navigate challenges and implement effective policies.

Learning Objectives:

  *   Evaluate library policies and procedures for inclusiveness and protection of patron privacy.
  *   Apply the 5 steps to having purposeful conversations about intellectual freedom issues when responding to users and coworkers.
