The Eastern Oregon Teacher Academy (EOTA) is an intense three-day program
where
participants share in a variety of activities that will help them better
understand what
teachers do and to determine whether or not they would like to pursue a
degree/career in
education.

The Academy is open to high school students (sophomores, juniors, and
seniors to be for
2022-23 calendar year) considering a degree in education, paraprofessionals
in the field
of education, and college graduates considering a graduate degree in
education.

The Academy will be held on campus at Eastern Oregon University in La
Grande.
Presentations and activities will take place throughout the campus.

Participants will be housed in Residence Halls on the EOU campus. Meal
service will be
provided by EOU’s food service operations.

Due to a generous grant from the Oregon Department of Education based on
grant initiative
and funding recommendation from the Educator Advancement Council, this
year’s Academy
will be free for participants.

Due to pandemic restrictions for public spaces on campus the Academy this
year will
be limited to 25 participants.
