Eastern Oregon University Library invites applications for a 9 month,
tenure-track User Experience/Reference Librarian at the assistant professor
rank.  This position calls for a collaborative, and user-focused librarian
with a keen interest in evaluating and strengthening the library’s
services, programs, and spaces. This position collects user data, observes
and studies user behavior, and performs analysis in order to recognize
patterns and emerging trends to recommend delivery of optimal, user-focused
library services and programs. This position takes the lead in coordinating
and assessing reference services.

Other responsibilities include collaborating with public service staff and
faculty on ensuring high standards of customer service are being met,
including orienting student assistants to work at the Information Commons
desk, liaising with academic program faculty, information literacy
instruction, and participating in collection development work within
assigned subject areas. Collection development includes selection of new
materials, evaluation of gift materials, and maintenance of the collection
via periodic weeding.
