[Libs-Or] Oregon Federal Documents Regional Collection Survey results

Greetings!

The results of the Oregon Federal Documents Regional Collection Survey<https://www.oregon.gov/library/collections/Documents/Federal%20Government%20Publications/Oregon%20Federal%20Documents%20Regional%20Collection%20Survey%20Report.pdf>, conducted by the State Library of Oregon in January 2023, are now available to review.

Below are collection retention decisions the State Library has made based on feedback from the survey.


  *   The State Library will continue to receive the Federal Register<https://www.govinfo.gov/app/collection/FR> and Code of Federal Regulations<https://www.govinfo.gov/app/collection/CFR> in print format, but will only retain those materials for 1-2 years according to FDLP superseding guidelines<https://fdlp.gov/guidance/weeding-depository-collection>.


  *   The State Library will continue to receive and retain all issues of the U.S. Statutes at Large<https://www.govinfo.gov/app/collection/STATUTE> in print format.


  *   The State Library will retain all issues of the U.S. Public Papers of the President<https://www.govinfo.gov/app/collection/PPP> in print format.


  *   The State Library will convene a meeting with Regional Collection partner libraries<https://www.oregon.gov/library/collections/Pages/Federal-Government-Publications.aspx> to discuss retention of Congressional reports, documents and hearings. After determining a path forward, the State Library will work with partner libraries to update selective housing agreements to the format now recommended by GPO<https://www.fdlp.gov/file-repository-item/sha-template-regional-copy>. The goal is to have agreements updated by December 2023.
