Hi folks,
A workgroup composed of state and local government officials drafted the Oregon Data Literacy Framework, a tool for governments and other organizations to assess data needs, practices, and strategies in their organizations. The draft report is linked below, if you're interested. The report includes different capabilities and personas (e.g. roles) of people who collect, work with, use, and manage data of any kind in an organization. Comments from any library staff interested in this topic would be most welcomed! See the email below from Kathryn Helms, the state's Chief Data Officer.
Cheers!

Subject: [Sora] Draft Oregon Data Literacy Framework Publication and Comment Period
Hello all,
As part of Oregon's Data Strategy and 2021-2023 Biennial Action Plan, The Chief Data Officer and Chief Data Officer Advisory Council chartered a work group to draft a data literacy framework and provide recommendations on opportunities to advance data literacy within the state. The Oregon Data Literacy Framework Work Group has completed their draft data literacy framework and final report, and both are available online for public comment and feedback: https://www.oregon.gov/eis/data-governance-and-transparency/Pages/data-literacy-framework.aspx. Comments will be reviewed by the Chief Data Officer and Chair of the Oregon Data Literacy Work Group and will be used to inform future implementation, expansion, and/or adjustments to the overall framework.
The comment period is open from November 13, 2023 to January 31, 2024. A link to review the report and submit comments is here: https://www.oregon.gov/eis/data-governance-and-transparency/Pages/data-literacy-framework.aspx
Thank you,
