Wednesday, April 3, 12p PT: Implementation of Telehealth Services in Rural Public Libraries<https://www.nnlm.gov/training/class/implementation-telehealth-services-rural-public-libraries> (NNLM)
A lack of access to healthcare professionals is a key contributing factor to poor health outcomes in the United States. Telehealth services have the potential to improve those outcomes by removing geographic barriers and providing timely care with healthcare providers and specialists. However, gaps in accessing telehealth exist in rural areas: citizens may lack internet access, a private space, or the digital literacy skills necessary to benefit from telehealth.

Public libraries are increasingly recognizing the importance of facilitating access to telehealth services to their communities. These services can vary widely based on the resources and needs of the library and the community. This webinar will highlight a project in Colorado to fund the development of telehealth services in rural library sites across the state. You will learn more about the project, how participating sites are developing their telehealth services, and resources for networking and training. The project is a partnership between the Colorado State Library and the Colorado Office of eHealth Innovation.

Thursday, April 11, 11a PT: Migrants: A Conversation with Sheri Laigle about the Current Crisis (and How Your Organization Can Help) (Dowd Training)
Sheri Laigle<https://www.linkedin.com/in/sheri-laigle-4b056ba2> is the Director of Social Services at HIAS<https://hias.org/>, a Jewish humanitarian organization committed to helping refugees and asylum seekers in the Washington, DC and New York metropolitan areas. Prior to her role at HIAS, Sheri worked as a therapist at Trauma Services, a program of the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services, for 17 years.  In that position, she served victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other forms of trauma and interpersonal or gender-based violence.  Bilingual in French and English, Sheri has worked extensively with the African immigrant population throughout her career. She was the co-founder and organizer of the African Women’s Empowerment Workshop, an annual conference for African immigrant women, from 2008 to 2019.

The Research Institute for Public Libraries (RIPL) is a national initiative to provide training about data and evaluation to public library workers. While RIPL typically provides in-person trainings, it has now launched a free, monthly, yearlong webinar series, 12 Months to Better Library Data. During the first quarter of the webinar series, the focus will be on the Identify and Plan steps:
