Announce: The Oregon Library Association Technical Services Round Table is overjoyed to announce the recipient of the 2025 OLA TSRT Scholarship!

The Technical Services Round Table’s Scholarship goal is to facilitate more folks’ involvement in Technical Services and The Oregon Library Association through networking, education, and advocacy …and FUN. Technical Services is a dynamic, fascinating, evolving -and fun- area of library work that we want to share. Among other purposes of the OLA TSRT Scholarship 2025, the main purpose is to offset some of the costs associated with participation and attendance at the OLA Conference 2025 in Eugene, Oregon.

Again, another giant THANK YOU! to all who applied for the TSRT Scholarship, we are thrilled to know of your interest in the Technical Services Round Table and OLA 2025. We welcome questions and comments and encourage participation in the Technical Service Round Table and the Oregon Library Association Conferences.

2025 OLA TSRT Scholarship has been granted to Christina Spence!

Congratulations Christina!

Christina Spence is the Technical Services Librarian at the Coos Bay Public Library. She received her Master of Library and Information Science degree from Wayne State University in 2015 and has over 16 years of experience working in public libraries in a variety of capacities. Christina is passionate about collection management and cataloging, enjoys looking at MARC records more than the average person, loves complicated reference/research questions, and serves as the webmaster for CBPL’s website. She is constantly looking for new and different ways to improve Technical Services within the library community, focusing particularly on increasing accessibility and inclusivity. When she’s not being a librarian, Christina enjoys playing cozy video games, getting tattoos, reading poetry, and creating art.

We are delighted with Christina’s interest and participation in the 2025 scholarship application opening and that she will be joining us on the Oregon Library Association Technical Services Round Table Steering Committee, Yay Christina!
