April is a time to celebrate the essential role of libraries, and PBS Books is proud to honor the invaluable contributions of libraries, librarians, and staff throughout National Library Week (April 6-12) and beyond.

📅 Wednesday, April 23 at 8 p.m. ET – PBS Books presents a conversation with Dawn Logsdon and Lucie Faulknor, filmmakers of the new Independent Lens documentary, “Free for All: The Public Library.” This film explores how public libraries have shaped our democracy, evolving to serve diverse needs while facing ongoing challenges. Plus, PBS will air the “Free for All: The Public Library” documentary on Tuesday, April 29 at 10 p.m. ET.
