Hello library community!

The State Library of Oregon is happy to share that we will once again be providing free registration for an upcoming online summit hosted by the Washington State Association:

Trauma-Informed Libraries Online Summit, November 14, 2025

You will be able to attend a day of virtual sessions for the essential knowledge library leaders need to establish, encourage, and maintain trauma-informed library workplaces. What does the latest data tell us about what staff experience on the front lines of library work? How are leaders innovating with trauma-informed care in academic, public, school, and special libraries? How can staff be empowered to advocate for themselves and lead from every level, regardless of their job role within the library? These questions and more will be explored with mental health experts, leading researchers, compassionate leaders, and frontlines practitioners.

Who is the Trauma-Informed Libraries Summit for?
While the Summit has a leadership lens, the content will be relevant for anyone and everyone who works in a library (academic, public, school, or special), regardless of whether they're in an official leadership capacity. The audience includes front-line staff alongside managers, supervisors, directors, department heads, deans, etc. Additional information coming soon regarding topics and the day's schedule at WLA's event page<https://www.wla.org/2025-trauma-informed-libraries-summit>.

If you are associated with an Oregon library (of any type) as a staff member, volunteer, or a Board/Foundation/Friends member, you may sign up<https://www.cognitoforms.com/StateLibraryOfOregon/RequestFreeRegistrationForWLASummit> starting today to receive your free registration and instructions on October 8.

Please note:

  1.  WLA registration opens on October 8, and at that time we will send out registration instructions along with the free registration code.

  2.  Do NOT register at the WLA website before receiving your registration code and instructions. The State Library will not provide reimbursements for registration or cancelation fees.

  3.  If you plan to attend the live summit, please request your free registration code no later than  noon (12:00pm) on Tuesday, November 11.

Recordings from the summit:

  *   Links to the recordings and presenter materials will be emailed to all registrants the week following the live event.
  *   Registration to request the summit recordings will remain open through October 14, 2026.
  *   Access to the summit recordings will be available through November 14, 2026.
