Dear Members:
The Administrative Rules regarding DMV's Medically At-risk Program (OAR
Chapter 735, Divisions 074 and 076) were approved by the Oregon
Transportation Commission on May 14. I am sending them as attachments to
this message. I will do my best to have the Medically At-Risk website
attach to the revised Rules by next week.
The Mandatory Impairment Referral Form (# 7230) is now available on DMV's
website. Go to www.oregondmv.com <www.oregondmv.com> and it will be listed
under "Forms and Publications"; "Driver Forms".
STATUS OF OMA LEGISLATION: HB 2986 A-Engrossed passed out of Senate
Committee this morning with an emergency clause that would make it effective
as soon as it is signed by the Governor (still has to pass Senate Floor, and
back to House Floor for approval with emergency clause). This bill would
protect a physician or health care provider from liability if he does not
make a report to DMV. It also keep the name of the reporting physician
confidential. It does NOT change the mandatory medical reporting
requirements. To check the status of the bill, contact the OMA at (503)
226-1555.
