<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:.5in">The San Francisco Unified School District has done some significant work to detrack mathematics education starting in middle school.  They have taken a bold step to improve the rigor of middle school mathematics
 for every student while eliminating accelerated tracks.  The results have shown large reductions in students failing high school math and increases in the number and diversity of students taking advanced mathematics at the high school.
