This Friday, OEBB will be sending an email to a random sampling of OEBB members, asking them to participate in an important state survey on healthcare. The text of the email we plan to send is pasted below for your reference.

You don't need to take any action. We just wanted you to be aware of the message in case any of your members ask you about it.

Dear OEBB Member:


In the next few days, you will be receiving a request from RTI International to participate in a survey.  This survey is part of the State Innovation Models (SIM) Evaluation.  The State of Oregon received funds from the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) under the SIM Initiative to support health care transformation for Oregon residents statewide.  Understanding the experience of health care consumers is one way that the SIM Evaluation will assess whether the health care system improves from the patient's perspective.

On behalf of the State of Oregon and the evaluators of this large initiative, I am writing to urge you to complete this survey at your earliest convenience.

In this survey, you will be asked about your experience with health care providers in the last 12 months.  It is part of a multiyear effort to transform health care and improve patient experience of care in Oregon.

The data collected from all respondents will be aggregated to provide the state with key information about consumer perceptions of health care they receive.   Responding to this survey is a service to your colleagues and the state.

Please know that your responses are confidential; neither I nor any other state employee will know how you answered the questions.  RTI International, a highly reputable non-profit research institute, has been retained to collect and protect your data.
