The availability of the secure browsers was the delay that we referenced
in the previous email to you. ODE remains optimistic of an October 15th
Online OAKS/TESA opening.

Subject: [TESA] OAKS Online/TESA Update - Anticipate Daily News until
Browsers are Available

Office of Assessment and Information Services will delay deployment of
the OAKS Online/TESA testing system. This is due to the continued delay
in making secure browsers available for the common operating systems
used in Oregon schools (i.e., Windows, Mac OS 9, Mac OS X, and Linux).

ODE wants to ensure that the school districts have adequate time for
pre-implementation activities (e.g., installing secure browsers and
installing Administrator Profiles through User Management System). ODE
will provide an update daily, at 10:00 am, as to the status of when the
system will be available. District Test Coordinators will be notified
when secure browsers are available on the American Institutes for
Research portal for OAKS Online/TESA (www.oaks.k12.or.us
<file://www.oaks.k12.or.us> )

In addition, ODE has extended the close of the TESA Preview Period from
December 1st to December 14th, to help reduce the impact of not having
browsers available.
