[oblpct] LPC/LMFT legislation

Oregon Bd Licensed Profess Counselors & Therapists Information
Tue Feb 2 08:12:40 PST 2010

House Bill 3668 was introduced in the Oregon Legislature yesterday. It
is a bill that extends the date for LPCs and LMFTs to attest to
diagnosis training and experience. The date currently in law is January
1, 2010. HB 3668 changes the date, giving LPCs and LMFTs until January
1, 2012 to attest.

This date change is significant because those who were unable to attest
by January 1, 2010, may not legally practice as a professional counselor
or marriage and family therapist.

You can view the proposed legislation (only 2 pages) on the
Legislature's website: www.leg.state.or.us Click on "Bills/Laws"
and search for HB 3668.
