The Oregon Legislature will convene in Salem on Tuesday, February 1,
2011.  Below is information about a few bills that you may be interested
in following.  If you would like more information about these bills and

HB 2065  --  Modifies definitions and other provisions for LPCs and
LMFTs (requested by the Board); assigned to the House Human Services
Committee.
 
HB 2217  --  Prohibits punitive damages against LPCs and LMFTs if they
acted within scope of practice.  Requested by COPACT.  Assigned to House
Human Services Committee.
 
HB 2821  --  Repeal of pilot project for licensees to demonstrate and
maintain tax compliance as a condition of license or license renewal.
This Board did not participate in the pilot.  Assigned to the House
Revenue Committee.
 
HB 5015  --  Budget bill for the Board. Not yet introduced.
 
HB 5016  --  Ratification of increased application and renewal fees for
criminal background checks.  Not yet introduced.
 
SB 97  --  Directs health related licensing boards to establish rules
requiring that licensees participate in cultural competency continuing
education.  Requested by Oregon Health Division.  Assigned to Senate
Health Care, Human Services & Rural Health Policy Committee.
 
SB 225  --  Establishes a process for health care professions to
establish scope of practice with review of Oregon Health Authority.
Sponsored by Senator Laurie Monnes Anderson.  Assigned to Senate Health
Care, Human Services & Rural Health Policy Committee.
 
SB 308 --  Same as HB 2821; repeal of pilot project for licensees to
demonstrate and maintain tax compliance as a condition of license or
license renewal.  This Board did not participate in the pilot.  Assigned
to Senate Finance & Revenue Committee.
