Topics covered:

*         Introduction to the theory behind CBT.

*         Introduction to key concepts (such as automatic thoughts and core beliefs).

*         Practical techniques:

o   Daily Mood Logs

o   Socratic Questioning.

o   Self-monitoring

o   Cognitive restructuring

o   Behavioral experiments

*         Case studies and illustrations: Contemporary views on the common underlying processes amongst depressive and anxiety related disorders and resulting common interventions ex: decreasing avoidance and enhancing safety-behaviors, utilizing behavioral experiments, reducing worry and rumination

*         Evidence-based foundational skills and concepts relevant to specific problem areas

*         Embedding behavioral experiments and imagery into everyday practice

*         Current neurobiological research on the brain

*         Building the therapeutic alliance with clients
