Sexual Trauma and Veterans: Supporting Transformation and Healing

Because a large number of veterans seek care outside the VA, this free training is held in support of clinicians and other healthcare providers interested in working with veterans who have experienced sexual trauma. The purpose of the this training is to provide VA and community clinicians with state of the art evidence-based and multicultural knowledge on the evaluation and clinical care of Veterans and Service Members who have experienced MST and to establish a learning community focused on enhancing care to survivors.

After this training participants will be able to:

1. Educate colleagues and Veterans about the rates of MST and the most common related conditions impacting emotional, physical, and cultural well-being

2. Increase proficiency in treating men and women who have experienced MST by implementing current treatment approaches

3. Develop and maintain access to community-based and VA providers in order to improve care for survivors of MST
